Katie Holmes reportedly has a new man in her life, and she has her former Dawson's Creek co-star Joshua Jackson to thank.

Katie has been secretly dating Jake Gyllenhaal. An insider says, "Josh has been the mastermind behind this romance. Katie says that they have tons in common, and Jake has already been to see her in [the Broadway play] Dead Accounts, plus she has been over to his apartment in [New York's] West Village for dinner."

Russell Crowe has responded to Adam Lambert's savage critique of Les Misérables.  Adam took issue with the actors' "live" singing in the film, saying the musical "suffered massively with great actors PRETENDING to be singers" and that "they should have studio recorded and sweetened the vocals."  In response, Russell, who stars in the musical, tweeted, "I don’t disagree with Adam, sure it could have been sweetened. [Director Tom] Hooper wanted it raw and real, that’s how it is." Audiences must not mind the singing. Les Mis has grossed more than $116 million at box offices worldwide.

The old Britney Spears is back -- and it may get her booted from X Factor!  Insiders say the star has been for months showing signs of her old, crazy behavior.  A source tells the New York Daily News, "She shows up late, she wanders around aimlessly, and she is in her own world. She wasn't ready for this responsibility." The source adds that Brit has let down Simon Cowell, who expected her to bring in huge ratings for his show. That, of course, didn't happen. Now the singer, who earned $15 million for her first season as a judge, is rumored to be on the verge of losing the high-profile gig.

Sofia Vergara kicked off the new year by getting kicked out of a Miami nightclub for bad behavior.  The trouble started when a fellow party-goer bumped into the Modern Family star and caused her to spill her drink. Boyfriend Nick Loeb got upset, and then Sofia started fighting with him because she thought he was causing a scene. But Nick lost it when the curvy actress agreed to take a flirty photo with the same guest who'd knocked into her. Things got so bad that guards removed Nick, while Sofia tossed an F-bomb at him.  But all seems OK in paradise -- a few hours later Sofia tweeted a photo of Nick with her mother.

Julianne Hough is opening up for the first time about the alleged abuse she endured while studying dance at London’s prestigious Italia Conti Academy of the Arts. At 10, she landed a five-year scholarship, a grueling training schedule and rarely communicated with her family in Utah.

She tells Cosmo in the February cover story, “While I was in London, I was abused, mentally, physically, everything.” She declined to elaborate more on nature of the alleged abuse, adding, “I’m a very forgiving person, and I don’t want to hurt anybody. What’s past is past … I was 10, looking like I was 28, being a very sensual dancer. I was a tormented little kid who had to put on this sexy facade because that was my job.”
