The Effingham County Animal Shelter is located at 307 Hwy 119 North in Springfield, between Railroad Avenue and the Effingham County prison.

The shelter has a number of very adoptable pets that need loving, permanent homes. The adoption fee is $45. Please note that all animals adopted from the shelter must be spayed or neutered.


If you live near this area and are missing a pet, please come by the shelter and fill out a lost card. However, with the large number of animals we see, please check at the shelter frequently to see if your pet may have shown up.
